DANCING PERFORMANCE, Secondary School Lucian Blaga Jibou, ROMANIA

Groups of students with dancing interests had to prepare a dancing performance. The particular thing about it was that they had to use traditional motives. There were many students who got involved in this activity, some of them teaching the others, and some of them learning. On specific events, the dance was performed on stage, for example when celebrating the National Day, Children’s Day, when hosting Erasmus groups. There were boys and girls who danced in pairs traditional dances, showing off their moves and steps.

There were many students who applied for being in the final team of dancers. Some of them taught the others the steps and moves. Eventually there were some pairs who got to the final stage, performing the dance. They were very proud of themselves being seen by their parents, teachers and school mates performing. Their self confidence got to a higher level, increasing individual skills as well.

We uploaded the videos on our social media pages, whatsapp groups and everyone was very proud of their work, inspiring the others, too.

Students had the opportunity to perform a traditional dance, which was new to them. They had been rehearsing for long until they got to the right stage of performing. They were pleased to see their skills improved and they were even capable of improvising at some point.
