Students were asked to make a list of traditional stories and think of
representative folk heroes and heroines in our Romanian culture. They worked at
school and at home. Some of them created puppets but thought of using new
materials, too.
Of
all the titles of traditional stories they came up with, there was one which
was the favourite: The Goat and her Three
Kids. It is written by a brilliant Romanian writer, who represented our
culture everywhere, even after his death. The students made fact files about
him and learned a lot of facts about his life and work.
There were
six students who wanted to perform the play. They really enjoyed being the
characters in the story and their classmates wanted to take part in it, too. So
there were more students involved, eventually. They all took turns in being the
caracters in the story as their self confidence was boosted all along this
activity.
The six who were
finaly the official ones in the theatre play kept rehearsing until it was all perfect and they played it
in front of groups of students, parents and teachers.
We uploaded the videos on our social media pages, whatsapp groups and everyone was very proud of their work, inspiring the others, too.
Students had the opportunity to perform a theatre play, which was new to them. They had not have this experience before. They were pleased to see their skills improved and they were even capable of improvising at some point.
They
also learnt facts about one of the most important writers in our Romanian
culture.
